How in the world can the Israeli public trust her?
She, Tzipi Livni, betrayed her former party, the Likud, and while Prime Minister Sharon betrayed some of the finest of his people in Gush Katif when he surrendered it to Israel’s enemies, she chose to be with him in this betrayal. When in the end the Likud rejected him for doing so, she joined him in his new Kadima party. When Ehud Olmert and not her became the frontrunner and Prime Minister, she was not loyal to him and as his foreign minister refused even to fly to Paris in the same plane. When the majority of her new Kadima party voted her out in favor of Shaul Mofaz, she rebelled and, rather than accepting the will of the majority of her party, started a new party: Tnua, where other ego-hurt politicians who had also been rejected as leaders by their Labor party assembled with her.
Is she now to become the key person and element for Israel to change to a more leftist leaning government that, if sworn in, may well cause, as with the unnecessary destruction of Gush Katif, the further destruction of Israel by the acceptance of a Palestinian State by her and her comrades, which, as even Prime Minister Rabin wrote, would only be possible on the ruins of the State of Israel!
