Israel is a small country with somewhat limited natural resources, though those that are available have been put to very good use. Israel has for decades effectively exploited the wealth of mineral products harvested from the Dead Sea, establishing a mineral health / skin care industry that is famous around the world.
Recent years have witnessed the discovery of numerous natural gas deposits off Israel’s Mediterranean coast. These gas fields are potentially able to meet the vast majority ing Israel’s energy needs.
Israel’s natural resources include:
- Copper
- Phosphates
- Bromide
- Potash
- Clay
- Sand
- Sulfur
- Asphalt
- Manganese
- Small quantities of crude oil and hitherto exploited natural gas. The above-mentioned recently discovered gas deposits comprise some of the largest in the world but have yet to be harvested.
