What do we really expect?

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."  (John 7:37-38)

When I say that for years in response to God’s promise we have gathered during the Feast of Tabernacles to receive what He promised to do during this Feast, which is the double outpouring of His Spirit – the former and the latter rain in one swoop – what do we

Churchill or Chamberlain?

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

When Shimon Peres lost to Benjamin Netanyahu with a very slight margin in the 1996 election for Prime Minister, he, Shimon Peres, was interviewed the day following by Daniel Ben Simon from the Haaretz. These are the words with which Shimon Peres explained his defeat by Netanyahu:

INTERVIEWER: What happened in these elections?

PERES: We lost.

PERES: We, that is the Israelis.

INTERVIEWER: And who won?

PERES: All those who do not have an Israeli mentality.

INTERVIEWER: And who are they?

PERES: Call it the Jews.

The fall of the United States

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

While many today are discussing whether to put boots on the ground in Syria or Iraq, America's enemy laughs, for he is preparing right now to put many boots on America's soil.

And the result will be unimaginable evil!

There they come hundreds, thousands of them willing to die or commit suicide as they enter in droves all with dangerous weapons into America's soft southern open border.

Peace will come through victory

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, "O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!" And Elisha said to him, "Take a bow and some arrows." So he took himself a bow and some arrows. Then he said to the king of Israel, "Put your hand on the bow." So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king's hands.

The coming Third World War

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

The following is a transcript of a message delivered by Jan Willem van der Hoeven in Norway on July 20, 2014.

And I hope also that the Lord Jesus, by His Spirit, will show you what to do with the information - because we are living in unbelievably prophetic times. And I have a feeling that soon we will see a war in the Middle East that will lead to the greatest revival that has ever hit the Middle East.

The curse of the traditions of men

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.' But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God"-- then he need not honor his father or mother.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

All inclusive Babylonian unity!

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

He is the perfect matchmaker, Pope Francis, to see Christians from East and West unite – possibly even with true Allah-fearing Muslims joining in – but certainly the majority of Christians from nearly all existing denominations.

Will it help or hinder?

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

The crucial and essential question that needs to be put to believers who have “been led” to become part of the Roman Catholic Church is this: Will the Catholic Church, in her doctrines and practices, become more distinctly the bride of the Lord through their witness and testimony, or will the opposite result in these individuals’ lives as they come under the influence and authority of the Pope and his curia;

In defense of Israel

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

It is not true that Israel will lose its Jewish character by annexing Judea and Samaria!Where is the famed intellect, I wonder - amazed - when I read the often spouted utter nonsense of some leftist Israeli politicians and educators, as they "reason" that the only way to solve the Israel-Palestinian conflict is to divide this already little land into two separate states?

Addressing the annual conference of the Institute for National Security Studies last week Israeli President Shimon Peres "insisted that security is not the issue."

"The only issue is for Israel to remain a Jewish and democratic

Wrong and devious terminology

By Jan Willem Van der Hoeven|

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil. (Isaiah 5:20)

The vile person shall no more be called: liberal. (Isaiah 32:5)

As someone once said, an undue mixture of ethics and statistics prevails in our day - and more often the statistics influence ethical standards rather than the other way around. What it means is that no objective standard exists with which to measure moral or ethical values.
