Over the years I have been privileged to live in Israel, I have frequently wrestled with questions about the way this nation’s leaders relate to what they call “the Christian world” (by which, and it is important that we understand this, they mean all of the Gentile nations).
Curious, too, is the ordinary Israeli citizen’s perspective on a whole range of issues, from the reasons for the reconstitution of the Jewish homeland, to the significance, or otherwise, of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
On a number of occasions in the past I have written opinion pieces in the form of “open letters” from a Gentile to the people of Israel, some of which were published in The Jerusalem Post. As the presently troubled – but future glorious – history of Israel unfolds in these days, the pages of this feature will be used to put questions to, and share some Christian thoughts with, the people of this beloved land.
